Etobicoke’s wellness committee is big on healthy eating. During the month of April they provided healthy recipe cards in the cafeteria to give employees new ideas on what to prepare at home. The attractive recipes also provided nutritional information that helps one make healthier choices.
Etobicoke takes one in the arm Forty-one seasonal shots and 25 H1N1 shots were given over the course of three clinics that were held on December 10, 16, and 17. A special thanks to the medical staff, Dorota Zolotenko and Mary Kavcic, for supporting this worthwhile event.
Etobicoke’s wellness committee hosted a fun event on June 11 with mini-putt and a carnival wheel. Bragging rights go to Julian Alburo, Gary Gallant, Phil Tyndale, Mark Kozoil, Eric Ruth, and Jazz Nirwan as being one of the Best Putters at ECP. Employees were quizzed on gut health facts at the carnival wheel. The committee served healthy smoothies and local community agencies were on-hand to help employees make positive lifestyle choices. An on-site health screening was valuable, as 40% of the 35 participants were advised to follow-up with their health care provider based on their results. Congratulations to Julian Alburo who won the $25 Sport Chek™ gift certifi cate.
